Downloading Folders

For basic information about Replicator, including getting logged in, see The Replicator Utility.

The Replicator download module begins with a choice of selecting a folder or your entire Folderize collection. In both cases, the folders/files copied will be limited to folders/files owned by you or shared with you, i.e., only the folders/files you see in the Folderize app.

Before proceeding, set the destination folder in Settings. Also decide your strategy for “too long paths” as shown.

After a download starts, all changes to settings will apply only to new downloads started after that. Also note that:

  • You can update settings just for the current opened session by clicking Apply Only To This Instance. In this case, changes will not affect other sessions and will be reset after closing the download manager window.
  • Or if you click Save, changes are applied to each new opened download window.

Replicator does not yet support object-record mode. You can download such a collection but file copies will be associated with folders only, not records. For example, if your Folderize structure has a folder called “Contracts” for Accounts, you may download that folder via Replicator, and the destination will end up with one Contracts folder containing all contract files for all accounts. An enhancement that will separately store each record’s folders and files is planned for a future release.

Permissions Needed by Replicator for Downloads

To start a download process, your Salesforce user must have these permissions:

  • Read Files
  • Read Folderize Folders

If the user does not have the permissions above, the admin should grant them via one of these permission sets included in the package. As of Folderize v. 5.3, all sets include the above permissions.
